Good news Facebook fans, we have just released the Box.net Facebook App, allowing you to share files with your friends directly through your Facebook profile.
With the Box Facebook App, you can easily share pictures, music, videos and other files. With the app added, you can browse all your friends’ files as well. You can manage the app on your profile page, or through box.net, where it will appear as a “Facebook Files” folder. The app can be password protected, and used just like our Box.net widget. We’ll be adding some neat file management functionality relatively soon.
Add it to your page, and let us know what you think! Instructions can be found on our help page link: http://box.net/help/113
Already, thousands of Facebook members are adding this to their profiles. Make sure to tell your Facebook friends, they’ll appreciate it, we’re sure.

We just completed the first releasable version of Office On Demand (tentative name), which is a cool new way to save files directly from Microsoft Office to your Box. Currently it’s compatible with Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Access both in 2007 and 2003 (and XP/Vista!).

A small “Save to Box.net” button will appear as a button in your toolbar section of the Office app - upon clicking, you’ll be able to login and upload your file to Box. Extremely useful if you’re jumping between computers or devices. We’ll be adding Box Network sharing functionality soon as well.
Download the first version here: http://www.box.net/shared/m0jjh7n610
Oh yeah, this feature was built using our API - so it’s something that can be built for any other software application or service ;-). If you’re interested in making a Box plugin for your favorite software application, let us know.

We’re very excited to announce a partnership with RCA, the company behind the Small Wonder. Any video that’s captured on this slick video camera can be instantly shared with friends and family via Box.net. RCA has integrated the Box API to let you share videos directly from their software - so you just plug it in, select and email, then send!
To us, this signifies the early stages of rich integrations between hardware companies and software/online services. The Box API was developed with this exact type of functionality in mind: bridging gaps between devices, software and the web. Here are some videos that we took with the camera last weekend:
