Further Integrate your Box.net and LinkedIn Networks
Collaboration is at its peak when you can access both your content and contacts across multiple platforms. Back in October 2008, we debuted the Box.net Files application, enabling LinkedIn members to manage and share documents, folders and presentations on Box within the LinkedIn site. Today, we’ve taken this a step further, letting you access your LinkedIn network within Box through a new OpenBox action. Now you can share content with LinkedIn connections inside the Box environment.
Here’s how it works: from the OpenBox tab, select the LinkedIn application and click on the “Add Application” button. To share content with your LinkedIn contacts from your “All Files” tab, just right click on the document and select “Share with LinkedIn contacts.”

You’ll be prompted to sign in to LinkedIn and then you can select your contacts. Hit “send” and you’re done!
We’ve been working closely with LinkedIn, which recently launched a new Developer Network site. It’s open to developers who want to integrate their applications with LinkedIn’s powerful network of 50 million users and Box.net is proud to be one of their featured integration partners. Rest assured, as Box engineer Hieu Nguyen states, this is just the beginning: “This is a huge step towards bringing the Box.net and LinkedIn communities closer together - now your Box.net content network will include more people than ever before. And we’re not done yet…stay tuned for further integrations with Box.net and LinkedIn.”
