We are thrilled to launch the all-new Box.net. We redesigned it from the ground up, with a fresh look and a new set of features that make Box a true online workspace where businesses can connect, share ideas and accomplish great things around all their content.

Here’s what you can look out for in the new Box:

A Fresh Look, an Expanded View
The first thing you’ll notice is the new interface. Besides a cleaner, more professional look, we have expanded the view - literally - to include a new sidebar, where you can view all the people that are working with you on your project, send a co-worker a message, see their picture, and change their access permissions.

More Informative User Profiles
The profile page is a great place for co-workers to learn about you and what you’re working on. You can also include contact information for people get in touch.  But the biggest addition is the updates feed where you can stay up to date on what a co-worker’s been working on - files they have uploaded and downloaded, along with comments and discussions they have contributed. Each profile also takes advantage of the new sidebar, which displays the people a user is collaborating with, along with a link to their profile pages.

Discussions
This new feature lets you start discussions with people that are in your shared workspace or folder. It’s handy for talking about the progress of a project or having a company-wide brainstorm session on what the new tag line should be (wink, wink).

Bookmarks
We always come across useful and interesting tidbits of information on the web. Using the new Bookmarks feature, you can maintain a set of web links to reference or share, along with any descriptions and comments you want to add. It’s great for sharing online research findings.

You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet…
This is just the beginning of the new Box. We are working on some great things that we can’t wait to show you. While we can’t say what those are just yet (hey, that would ruin the surprise, right?), we are poised to deliver new innovations this year at a greater pace than we ever have. It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be exciting and we hope you love it.
