Box email uploading
Now you can upload files by sending attachments to your Box! Just email upload@box.net with the file or files that you’d like to store or share, and they’ll arrive in a newly created folder called “Uploads from email.” For now, while we’re still testing, you can only send attachments from your registered account email, however we’ll soon enable a whitelist to let you add your mobile phone number or other email addresses that you want accept files from.
Here’s how you might use this new feature:
- “Backing up” important documents from email to your Box
- Sending photos or other media from your mobile phone - if you have your email address properly configured to do so
With some of the new sharing features we’re adding in the next few weeks to Box, this service will become even more interesting. Stay tuned, and please let us know if there are any bugs.

Works flawlessly and integrates nicely into the box.net environment too. It was a much needed feature, and you guys have done it! The box.net people definitely deserve some good karma.

Cool feature! Will you recieve a “upload compleated” verification e-mail? That would be a great feature!

This is a great feature. Just what I’m after and will cause me to signup for a paid plan. I agree with a comment above that we need email confirmation of an upload; this will be particularly useful/important when you added the next killer feature of allowing us to create a list of authorised email senders. This sort of functionality will be perfect. Please expedite! Great work.
