Grab the new Box widget

There’s an all new Box.net widget available in your account! It more closely matches the functionality of your Box than our first widget, which was primarily aimed at sharing media on MySpace and blogs. This new widget is meant to solve a huge problem for businesses and organizations: finding an easy way to share and collaborate on files your own site. And unlike the alternatives, there’s nothing to install, manage, or host yourself - just drop in a single line of HTML code and you can instantly publish files to your website. Additionally, with the Box Pro subscription, you can accept uploads from other people, making the Box Widget a drop box or exchange location for documents and media. Here’s a widget we made with some of our Press material:

To make a widget, you can start from: www.box.net/get - or click ‘get a widget’ from the menu of any folder in your Box. As always, be sure to let us know what you think.

Any chance, in a later version, that you’ll be able to add tabs within the widget? E.g., a tab for ‘articles’, another for ‘video’, and a third for ‘pictures’ or something like that. I’m thinking of how to create a ‘media’ box for a website, and this looks so very promising, and simple for the average user.

This is great - I’ve already used it on one website under development. FUll marks to the guys at box.net again. I like the tab idea too from MIchael Stewart - I’ve used simple folders to get around that at the moment - but folders able to be tabs, or self defined tabs would be cool.

Box is by far the most impressive file storage unit, store documents, video, photo’s, audio, etc, and be able to access online, even play multi-media files from within Box.

is there a possibility that you will allow us to edit the color of the box / or put in a background image to match with our website/blog/profile schemes in the future? That’s my only complaint, lack of being able to customize the color/scehme of it.
